The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has lot of great information to help you talk to your teenagers and children about alcohol and drinking. Whether we want to believe it or not, chances are that your children are being placed in situations where they are having to decide whether they will drink alcohol or not.
Wouldn’t it be great if when they are faced with those decisions, they have your guiding words as a moral compass to direct them in making their choices. Talking to them about drinking alcohol may not stop them all, but at least they have good information from good sources. Not the disinformation passed along among their peers. Also, they know their parents/guardians care about what they are doing when they are out in the world on their own.
There are a lot of dangers out there, but this is one that we can help our children to be prepared to face … with information. Talk. They Hear You.
